Behind the Cyclovia are incredible people working hard to make this event a success. Whether you’re a resident, a business, or a nonprofit, come lend us a hand!

Become a Volunteer

Join the Cyclovia volunteer team and help transform our streets into spaces of play, community and discovery on Sunday, October 4th, 2026! The success of the event relies on the dedication of our wonderful volunteers. Rewards (vegetarian lunch, snacks and more) will be offered to volunteers who helps us during the day.

Here are the volunteer roles we need to fulfill:
Assembly

Role: Position and install the equipment (ez-up tents, tables, chairs, etc.) before the event, from 9AM to 11AM.

Responsibilities:

  • Install barricades and street closure signage, if necessary
  • Set up the ez-up tents, stands and other signage
  • Install tables and decorations
Disassembly

Role: Stow the equipment and clean the site after the event, from 5PM to 6:30PM.

Responsabilities:

  • Take down the equipments
  • Sort and stow the equipment (signal broken or missing items)
  • Leave the space clean and secure
Attendant to street closure

Role: Ensure street closure and redirect car trafic during the event.

Responsabilities:

  • Install signage (if necessary) and watch over the intersection
  • Inform motorists about the event and possible detours
  • Welcome pedestrians and cyclists with a smile
  • Contact a person in charge in case of a problem
  • Volunteers filling this role must be aged 18+
Animation

Role: Animate various activities to create a festive and family-friendly vibe, depending on the needs (children space, arts workshop, etc.).

Responsabilities:

  • Ensure the logistics about the activity
  • Invite people to participate
  • Ensure the security of the participants
Mobile team

Role: Move around the site to inform and guide participants, distribute the program, maintain the cleanliness and spot incidents or dangerous behaviors, and all other tasks necessary.

Responsabilities:

  • Welcome participants with your good mood, answer questions, direct people towards activities, distribute flyers
  • Sensitize visitors about cleanliness
  • Move around the site to spot incidents or technical problems. Guide lost people or people in need. Alter organizers if necessary.
  • Help with minor troubleshooting, resupplies in water or equipment, substitute temporarily other roles.
Sector coordinator

Role: Keep watch on things in a sector of the event 

Responsibilities:

  • Supervise assembly and disassembly in the sector
  • Follow up with volunteers and partners, answer questions
  • Relay communications between the volunteers team and the organizers
  • Resolve local minor problems
  • Substitute temporarily other volunteers
